Piacenza Salami with honey and rosemary roasted figs

Honey and rosemary roasted figs perfectly complement our Piacenza Salami. We took it just a bit further and added melted cheese and popped them all on toasted focaccia. Prepare for a taste bomb.

Method:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200°C, gas mark 6
  2. Rinse and dry the figs, then cut in half and place onto a small baking tray
  3. Drizzle over the honey and add the rosemary
  4. Pop into the oven and bake for 10-15 mins or until sticky and soft
  5. Put to one side
  6. Slice each roll in two and lightly toast the underside for a couple of minutes
  7. Take out and turn over, then add a slice of smoked gouda and pop back under the grill
  8. Once the cheese starts to melt, add the salami and grill for another minute
  9. Add a roasted fig (or two) and drizzle over the honey

Tom's top tip: You can replace the smoked gouda with tallgio or edam, depending on your preference
