Chorizo Sausage Rolls

A continental twist on the classic sausage roll. Perfect for picnics or pre-dinner nibbles (with a drink, of course).

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180° or Gas Mark 4
  2. Fry the finely chopped chorizo and shallot until soft
  3. Allow to cool slightly, then add to the sausage and sprinkle over the chopped parsley
  4. Mix thoroughly – best to do with clean hands!
  5. Cut the pastry in half length ways
  6. Spread half of the mixture along one of the long edges of the pastry
  7. Roll into a long sausage, using egg to stick down
  8. Cut in to pieces of desired length
  9. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds
  10. Repeat with second piece of pastry and remaining sausage mixture
  11. Bake in oven for 20 mins
